Matt is the Director of MJ. Mortimer Ltd which specialises in Stage, Events & Production Management. Matt and his company have extensive experience in working within the live entertainment industry which mainly consists of theatre, events and most recently opera. Matt approaches every production with its unique needs as Matt believes every production has something different to offer its audiences. 

 

Matt graduated Rose Bruford College in 2018 with a BA Hons in Stage Management, while training he accomplished a lot in the three years of his training in the professional industry from working with Royal Opera House, Carve Productions, Two UK Tours with Brendan Cole's show "All Night Long", along with various large charities and gaining his first West End contract before his graduation day, of which shortly followed his first pantomime as Company Stage Manager, just four months after graduating and being offered the 2019/2020 contract with the same company. Matt has recently been taken on board as Company Production Manager for CARVE and also Media Director for James Clarke Agency.

Matt graduated Rose Bruford College with an upper second class honours in Stage Management in 2018, he is a member of Equity, BECTU and supports MAD Trust, Pride in London and Acting For Others year round as he believes the work they do are important for the industry and the communities they affect. 

He is extremely passionate about his work and the value that a professional and enthusiastic Stage, Events & Production Manager can bring to the team. His personality and communicative skills are what really makes him stand out along with his knowledge and understanding of all technical elements from Pyrotechnics, Lighting, Sound, Audio Visuals and many other technical elements which make a production come together.

Matt in the past year has faced many challenges in his work that has lead him to be able to calmly lead a team of all abilities while ensuring the smooth running of the show and after doing daily touring for a total of 6 months in 2016/17 and international work his ability to do get ins/outs while managing local crews and calling a show have adapted his skills even further while continually learning every day - You could be new in the industry or you could have been doing it for a decade but I believe there is always something new to adapt and learn, especially from each other.

 

He has worked on a variety of productions & events in London, around the UK & Middle East. Matt is always well liked professionally and is always an extremely hard working and dedicated person which previous employers have always found to be some of his top qualities.

 

Matt's continues to progress his career with his end goal yet to be discovered but for now just loves the work he is currently doing. Matt pride's himself on his work ethic, ethos and will always get the job done above expectations.
